Voting for the 2015 Bass Lake Resident of the Year is too close to call, according to the Town and Community Appreciation Committee.

Resident of the Year is typically named prior to the opening of the annual Pre-Mid-Summer Festival Week Days, but organizers “forgot all about it this time around,” according to festival co-chairperson Lucille Sanderstroms-Jimmerschmidt.

Now, the decision has been pushed back even further. Because of the tight vote, the process has been turned over to Michiana Select Committee on Community Awards/Suspicious Deaths, which will make the final determination. Timetable for the decision was unknown at press time, or at least uncertain.
