• Fish fry nixed: Monthly fish fry (and bingo and pull-tabs), scheduled for 6-8:45 p.m. Friday at St. Methodist Catholic Church, has been canceled, effective immediately. A co-organizer said the decision was based on a conflict of priorities. “We have bigger fish to fry,” she said.
• For gripe’s sake: Weekly “Sit & Bitch” session, set for Thursday at Grumpy’s Friendly Diner, has been moved to next Monday, 6-8 a.m. It’s a double-length session to make up lost time because a screwball botched our damned table reservation for the stupid meeting, according to a club member.
