Feb. 5: Big Super Bowl party, hosted by Bass Lake Town Council member Enos Felger, D-Dave’s House, beginning at 4 p.m., at Dave’s house; bring your own entourage; some food provided, but not that much.
Feb. 6: “Big Annual Chili Cookoff,” noon-3 p.m., community hall, uptown.
Feb. 10: Free public seminar: “How to Maximize Your Tax Return and Also Find the Best Deals on Lawn Equipment for Spring/Summer Even Though You’d Have Been Smarter to Buy Those Things Last Fall,” conducted by Ned Levelcut, owner of Ned Levelcut Lawn Mower and String Trimmer Repair and Tax Return Preparation and Dock Installation and Removal and Residential Snow Removal Services, noon-3 p.m., concourse,  Bass Lake University (in case of rain/snow, same place).
Feb. 11: Valentine’s Day sweethearts dance, 8-10 p.m., Funky’s on the Bayou; $25 for hors d’ ouvres and a modest bottle of wine; no funny stuff.
Feb. 16: XXXVIth annual Bass Lake Elementary fifth-grade presidential biography contest, after lunch, multi-purpose exercise closet.
