May 6: Kentucky Derby gathering, hosted by Enos Felger, D-Dave’s House; post time is 2:45 p.m. and thereafter; adults only; alcoholic beverages and online wagering permitted in backyard only, per Dave’s fiancee.
May 7: Bass Lake University commencement/graduation, 2 p.m.,  Old BLU Chapel; address by Al Schwartz; taunting by class president/valedictorian Toby Announced.
May 16: Bass Lake Town Council meeting/TV family night.
May 21: “Yard-Fest,” inaugural late-spring home & garden expo, presented by Landscape & Garden Procrastinators Club, 3:45-7 p.m., 1845 Coleslaw Road; keynote speaker Ned Levelcut; admission free with donation of non-perishable plant.
May 30: Memorial Day Weekend Monday (observed).
