Tomorrow Today: Parade lineup set for festival

Bass Lake Pre-Mid-Summer Festival Week Days, which opened Thursday, are in full swing, even a day later.

One weekend highlight — among many — is the annual parade.

Unofficially dubbed “The 45th-largest parade in Michiana,” the event begins at 12:45 p.m., proceeding from Outskirts Avenue, continuing to Main Street Avenue and concluding out near the lake, where additional festivities are probably planned.

This year’s tentative parade lineup (subject to change, without tentative notice):

  • Milit’ree personnel/Dudes on horseback
  • Loud sirens/horn-honking
  • Grand marshal: Marshall Grand, area philanthropist
  • Public address malfunction
  • Stilt-Clown Posse
  • Former Resident of the Year Guy Soundguy (parade position vacated)
  • Current Resident of the Year (TBD)
  • Politicians in convertibles (6)
  • People walking next to people in cars (number unknown)
  • Bass Lake High School marching debate team
  • Parade-Watchers Club
  • Large men/tiny cars
  • Gender-Neutral Scouts of America
  • Pig-in-a-Pokemon: Pork producers dodgeball team
