‘Festival Week Days’ begin

Bass Lake Pre-Mid-Summer Festival Week Days are underway.

The small midway, which features at least one children’s ride, opened at 12:45 p.m. today. Food vendors also were open for business, and business was brisk.

Joe Stimton, 36, was among those who took advantage of the festival food fare.

“This is my eighth time at the festival,” said Stimton, as he enjoyed an elephant ear. “God, this elephant ear tastes awful.”

The festival continues through Saturday, concluding with a finale of fireworks.
