Activities and events in the Beacon area, March 2016:
March 1: Boys’ high school basketball statewide pre-sub-regional tournament, Bass Lake vs. Forestville St. Betty, 6 p.m., Neutralsite High School (girls’ bracket & schedule unavailable).
March 17: St. Patrick’s Day party, 5:45 p.m. until drunk, Dave’s House, hosted by Enos Felger, D-Dave’s house; bring your own cabbage.
March 19: 102nd nearly-annual “Pancake Extravaganza,” 6:45-10:45 a.m., Big VFW Hall, uptown Bass Lake.
March 26: Egg-gathering/ham walk, Newlee-Tydald Park, Bass Lake; presented by Bass Lake Sidewalk Merchants, master of ceremonies, Dr. Bryce Rabbitt, Regional Corporate Hospital.
March 27: Easter sunrise service, 6:30 a.m., St. Methodist Catholic Church; non-specific sunset service resurrected at Lakeside Agnostic Church, 8 p.m.
