Bass Lake Fire and Emergency Institute was dispatched to 12 Granary Row, at 6:00 PM this evening, for a report of light-gray smoke coming from the attic of a house at that location.
The initial fire crew on scene found smoke coming from the attic. After a quick search to establish that no residents were inside the dwelling, crew members went to work knocking down the blaze.
At this time, the Institute has not determined the cause of the fire, but investigation is ongoing and will continue.
Crews members of the Institute were on scene for several hours. Residents of the structure still had not arrived at the time that fire crew members cleared the scene safely.
Extra water was provided by a neighborhood resident of the area.
Bass Lake Fire Institute was assisted by Bass Lake Authority Police and the Michiana Highway Control Fire Division.
No injuries were reported.
