Delores Denominator, Bass Lake mayor-by-default, sustained absolutely no injuries Tuesday during a brief one-vehicle mishap, although she was “quite shaken-up,” based on cell-phone records immediately obtained by the Beacon news team.
According to word-of-mouth at the scene and a post on Bass Lake Police Authority’s Facebook wall, Denominator was riding in the passenger side of a late-model car on Curvee Hill Deepditch Street just off Out-on-the-Highway Road not long after 11:45 a.m., when the driver misjudged the immediate terrain, causing the transportation unit to leave the roadway, side-swiping Denominator’s plans for the day.
“It was something I wanted no more of,” Denominator said afterward, according to witnesses.
The unidentified driver remains unidentified, pending spousal notification.
Denominator was reportedly “between appointments on official town business.” The light-gray vehicle suffered a fractured bumper and a hyper-extended windshield, and was treated at the scene.
Bass Lake Fire and Emergency Institute representatives were nearby to help the victims and “get started” with paperwork.
