Bass Lake Authority Police recently attempted to arrest a person on various charges.

According to BLAP, shortly after the early-afternoon hours Monday, officers observed a male subject walking northbound on South Avenue just west of East 3rd Street. This subject was recognizable by police due to previous incidents.

He also had a felony warrant.

Officers attempted to make contact with the subject, but contact was avoided by the subject feeling on foot. Police pursued the male in question using a patrol vehicle with lights flashing and sirens blaring, then, later, on foot.

He was followed until authorities crossed Out-on-the-Highway Road, at which point the pursuit was, officially, out of the department’s jurisdiction.

The case was turned over to the care of Michiana Security Company.

Attempts by The Beacon staff seeking comment from police did not materialize.
