Marcie Longbranch, short-time teacher at Bass Lake Elementary, has announced her retirement, effective in spring 2018.

Longbranch, 23, hired in June, graduated in 2017 from UCLA-Fort Wayne with a bachelor’s degree in education and education accessories.

Her post-career goals include pursuit of a distance-learning degree and “to spend more time with adults.”

Reflecting on her time at Bass Lake schools, Longbranch has fond memories.

“I’ve had a good run,” Longbranch said. “But it’s time for the next chapter of my life — Chapter 6.”

School board members are expected to accept her resignation at a near-future meeting.
