Mildred (South) Warbler, 91, of Frostworth Avenue just south of Bass Lake, succumbed to death Friday near her home.

Mildred was born March 6, 1924, in Montana Falls, Va., to William and Mary Southward. The family migrated northward in the 1930s, eventually settling nearer to the Michiana area.

They preceded her in death, but not before she married John P. Warbler on June 4, 1950. They bore several children, and all have survived up to this point. John P. is no longer with us. Mildred worked various jobs, but mainly was a homemaker who never retired from homemaking.

She had several hobbies and interests. She’s the only surviving family member who could cook worth a damn.

Her favorite season was winter, although, considering her date of death, she might rethink that if she were alive today.

Visitation is 2-6:45 p.m. Monday at St. Methodist Catholic Church. Funeral service is at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, followed by a potluck-burial at a local cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jolly’s Morgue and Donuts. At least the family assumes that’s the case.
