Jan. 5:  State-of-the-Town Address ’15 [1], featuring new mayor Guy Soundguy, 6 p.m., Town Hall.
Jan. 9: Dr. Suess Birthday Party, 5 p.m., Bass Lake Public/Private Library (rescheduled from March 2007).
Jan. 11: 19th annual soup cook-off contest, noon-3 p.m., Lakeside Agnostic Church (basement).
Jan. 16: “Public Debate For Fun”: Al Schwartz (Bass Lake poet laureate) vs. Peppy Schlitz (occasional resident), 4-4:45 p.m., Bass Lake Inn/Convenience; $1; free tourism pamphlets and piano-raffle.
Jan. 24-25: “A Mid-Winter Day’s Dream,” presented by Bass Lake High School thespians, Bass Lake University concourse elevated stage; $2 at the door, $3 at the gate, free for ages 85-and-up.
Jan. 27: Offseason desperation soybean sell-off, Granary Row.
Jan. 30: High School basketball: Bass Lake Canoes vs. Nearbytown Birds-of-Prey, 8 p.m., BL High gymnasia. (girls’ game prior to that).
