Bass Lake Turtle Collectors, a local club formed in 2006, has decided to call it quits.
“We just could never find enough turtles,” said Shelly Chelonian, chairwoman of the now-defunct club. “Our group became a shell of its former self.”
That’s not the sole reason the group broke apart, said one (1) member of the ex-collective, who claims “boredom” reared its ugly head, too.
“Our meetings moved at a snail’s pace,” the member said.
Some ex-members plan to forge ahead with a new club, Pun Overkill Group.
