Local Cover Band headlines a night of music Friday at Funky’s on the Bayou. It’s the first live show at Funky’s in almost two months.

Opening acts are Local Cover Band Jr. and Beer Garden of Eden.

Start time: 8:45 p.m. Bar time: 8:55 p.m.

Cover charge: $3. Admission is free with donation of a non-perishable snare drum.

Funky’s owner Greg “Funky” Gregory was asked  to explain why so much time had passed since the last live performance at his venue.

Gregory failed to answer in a polite manner.

“I don’t care why,” Gregory said. “Scram!”

  • Also: Autograph session with Local Cover Band crew member and Bass Lake Mayor Guy Soundguy, 6:45 p.m., somewhere else in town.

Max Fontaine contributed to this, as an in-house Beacon reporting coach
