Mortis Neal Tennon, age of 76, expired Monday in the registration office at Regional Corporate Hospital, mere hours before contracting a fatal disease.

He was born during the late-1930s near Bass Lake, to Davis and June (Firsten) Tennon. On March 17, 1957, he married his wife near Bass Lake. She died in 2011, near Bass Lake.

Mortis was a carpenter by trade, occasionally employed at Mom-and-Pop Bricks-and-Mortar. He was a nice guy by-and-by, and a sometime member of St. Methodist Catholic Church.

Visitation is 5-7:45 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson’s Hair & Funeral Parlor, near Bass Lake. A funeral service (his, specifically) begins at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.

He enjoyed TV, radio and telegraph.

Survivors are numerous, and there is much more to say about his life, but the obituary fee was beginning to get out of hand, according to family members.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his late-wife, who also hasn’t been notified; aunts, uncles, two great-cousins; and his favorite power-drill.

Memorial donations are encouraged. Envelopes are available at the store.
