An alleged credit card related theft was attempted late Tuesday afternoon. A BLAP officer was dispatched to the home of a Bass Lake resident to investigate. The alleged victim told the officer that an alleged Girl Scout tried to obtain the complainant’s credit card number to complete a transaction involving Girl Scout cookies. When the officer asked to see the cookies in question, the caller, an elderly Bass Lake woman, said that her husband had eaten them. The BLAP officer then questioned the husband who admitted to eating the cookies, believed to have been thin mints. The woman said the Girl Scout fled on foot following the alleged sale. It was determined that the cookies had not been paid for.  The husband was charged with unlawful consumption of ill-gotten cookies.
