What was the zeitgeist for fishing on Bass Lake during fall 2014?

According to one local expert, that’s a “dumb question,” as the Beacon discovered during a Facebook-interface with Gil Chantee, lake-area seasonal historian and chief of fisheries science at Bass Lake Center for Fish and Sundry Wildlife.

“Seriously, who goes fishing in the fall?” Chantee asked. “Statistically speaking, at least.”

Further details are possible, though.

“I won’t be so surly about it in a few weeks,” he later said. “Contact me at that point.”
