Kitty ‘Housecat’ Murphy
14 (80 in cat years), Uptown

Kitty Murphy, 80/14, of Uptown, Bass Lake, died Monday at Veterinary Clinic USA in Nearbytown, after having been “put to sleep.”

It came after a weekslong illness.

For most of her life, she enjoyed catnip, food and sleeping. Kitty was ambivalent or disinterested about nearly everything else. She also was “a damn fine-looking cat,” according to the Murphys’ next-door neighbor Lars, who preceded Kitty in death in 2011.

Surviving are her co-owners, Will and Grace Murphy; youthful companion Trevor-Ann Murphy; plus, a dog, Tinker.

Burial is expected soon, out-back at Jolly’s Morgue and Donuts. Memorials may be directed to the Bass Lake Cat Litter Fund.
