How good was fishing for anglers this spring?

At least one local expert believes it’s impossible to assess that.

“It’s far too early to say,” said Gil Chantee, lake-area seasonal historian and chief of fisheries science at Bass Lake Center for Fish and Sundry Wildlife. “Call me again in August.”

Few other local experts were consulted, as deadline was approaching.
