- 6 slices whole-wheat bread
- Tomato sauce (1)
- Olive and/or vegetable oil
- Onion, sliced to taste
Instructions: Slice slices of bread into 12 half-slices. Fry bread in skillet with oil, 2 minutes each side. Remove. Evenly distribute sauce over bread; set aside remaining half. Add onion slices. Sprinkle with toppings. Set aside. Preheat 350-degree oven for 350 degrees. Place sandwiches on oven-safe cookie sheet. Set aside. When oven is successfully preheated, place contents inside for 10 to 11.45 minutes. Remove from oven when timer dings. Allow to cool, place remaining sauce in fridge for future discardment. Sprinkle with toppings again, if any remain. Set aside. Serves at least 4.
