Bass Lake-Uptown annual spring stick-and-twig collection gets underway Monday and will continue for a few weeks, courtesy of Bass Lake Municipal Mulch-and-Metering Service.
Uptown-area residents are asked to dump yard waste into piles along the street. Uptown merchants are not allowed to do this, according to Bass Lake Town Council, since there are few trees in that jurisdiction.
Brush must be “fairly recent,” i.e., produced since late-December. Last fall’s dead foliage is disqualified.
The waste-collection service is not available to lakeside residents, who can just throw brush into the water or let it lie where it lays.
“We encourage everyone to get involved — unless you do not qualify,” said James Logwood, director of Bass Lake Municipal Mulch-and-Metering Service.
