A.O. and I.J. Kaye, of west side of the lake, are celebrating their 45th anniversary with an open house at Bass Lake Public Domain Facility (formerly Bass Lake Community Center).

The open house is planned for 2-2:45 p.m. Saturday, but is not a certainty.

The couple were married April 5, 1969, in Baton Rouge, Wisconsin. Two months later, for reasons undisclosed, they moved to Bass Lake, where each “settled in quite comfortably.”

They have a few children, several grandchildren and two great-grandchilds, ages 1 and 0.5. None of them live close enough for the couple’s liking.
