Breaking!: From The Rumor Mill

The semi-annual Bass Lake Community Valentine’s Day Dance has been postponed until further notice. Planners of this year’s dance, themed “Alone No More,” allegedly forgot to schedule the event, which was to be held at the Town Hall beginning at 7:45 pm this evening. Had they scheduled it.

Dance committee chairperson Yvonne T’ Notherchance, however, denies the alleged scheduling snafu and instead blames the postponement on the missing Town Hall keys, which are missing and presumed lost.

“Oh it was scheduled,” T’ Notherchance said. “But some doofus lost the keys to the place. What are we supposed to do? Have the friggin’ dance outside? It’s like 8 degrees out here.”

Other members of the dance committee were unavailable for comment, as most of them left the area for warmer climes some weeks ago.

“Some committee,” T’ Notherchance said. “They’re ll livin’ it up in Branson or Macon or Charleston or someplace. I bet one of ’em has the damn keys!”

T’ Notherchance declined further comment, saying “I decline further comment,” she said.

A carry-in dinner was to be served.
