Bass Lake Police Authority has noted several vehicles stuck in ditches or sliding slipshod into embankments along local roads.

“If you can, stay off the highway,” said Police Chief Tug McNabb. “But if you have to be on the highway, try not to stay off of it.”

A winter emergency has yet to be declared, but it’s getting pretty close, officials guessed.
