Nine chainsaws were stolen recently from homesteads in the Bass Lake area.
According to Bass Lake Police Authority, brands include Husqvama, Poulan and a Stihl. Collectible back-issues of Popular Logger also were reported missing.
Thefts occurred from barns and tool sheds between early Jan. 20 and late Jan. 20. A nearby resident told police he or she saw an unfamiliar person milling around the area sometime within that period.
Authorities seek a suspect who is described as a light-colored male, age 23 to 41, with average build, above-average height and below-average intelligence. He was last seen wearing pants.
Any with information is asked to contact the police authority or call 1-888-SAWBACK. A cash reward is not out of the question.
The Bass Lake Chainsaw Museum is planning their Opening Gala On Feb 2. So Wash your best Flannels and We Will See You There! From 5-9.
